Yoga
Yoga has been studied and practiced since antiquity. In fact, a 2016 study conducted by Yoga Journal and Yoga Alliance revealed that it is estimated that more then 36 million people in the United States alone now practice yoga (PR Newswire Article). It is not a religion, but both a science and an art. Originating from India, the word yoga means union in Sanskrit, as in, to unite. It is a profound and deeply healing practice on many levels. In addition to opening up the whole body and connecting mind, body and breath in a dynamic fashion; the practice of yoga creates an environment of equilibrium within. Yoga promotes health, relaxation, detoxification and inner-peace. Yoga also reduces stress, stiffness, anxiety, back, neck and shoulder aches. Additionally, yoga increases strength, flexibility and energy levels while also improving sleep, focus, balance and circulation.
